    Hotel Uman

    [ Images ]/Uman.jpg                  This is a very comfortable small hotel in the centre of town: (Hotel Uman (http://www.choice.no/html/en-gb1141312.jsp))

                      Cost for a single room is approximately 100 EUR per night.

















    Travel

    There is a bus from the airport into town - just walk straight ahead when you come out of the airport and you should see it! It takes about 15 min and is very cheap 35 SEK. Get off at Vasaplan and ask the driver to point you towards your hotel (two blocks away down Vasagatan).


    Social events....

    Those of you who arrive earlier on Wednesday are welcome to eat whenever you like at the hotel. They serve an evening buffé (free of charge) or you can wait until later and eat at the pub. Our suggestion is to meet at the hotel at 8 pm and then walk together to Harry's Pub for a beer (or two...).  If you are arriving later you should be able to find the pub quite easily ( Västra Rådhusgatan 1 - walk two blocks along Storgatan and then look left) - or give one of us a call!

    ..and to the University Thursday morning


    At the same bus stop as the bus from the airport stopped, you can choose three busses.

    Bus numbers 1, 6 and 8 will all take you to the University. The trip takes about 6 minutes and costs 20 SEK.

    The get off at the bus stop named Universum. From there it's just 1 minute walk. Alternatively you can of course take a morning walk to the university! It will take you approximately 15-20 min. Folders containing maps and more information on Umeå will be waiting for you when you check into the hotel!

    or if you like to walk

    There is a 20 minute walk (~3 km).

    Walk Storgatan 8 blocks and take left Järvägsgatan.

    Take right on Kungsgatan and follow it to the bicycle bridge

    Beware of the Umeå bikers most of them left their brains at home :)

    Follow the narrow bridge up toward the hospital and keep going in the same direction, se map.
